Mansfield moves up to No. 6 in NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings
MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University men's basketball team moved up to No. 6 in this week's NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings released today by the NCAA office.
Mansfield moved up three places from last week's No. 9 ranking after posting wins over East Stroudsburg and Millersville to improve to 15-7 on the season. West Liberty (WV) tops this week's ranking followed by Bowie State (MD), Mercyhurst, IUP, Winston-Salem State and Mansfield. Fairmont State (WV), West Virginia State, Alderson-Broaddus (WV) and Shaw (NC) are ranked No. 7-10.
Mansfield has played well against regionally ranked teams this season, defeating Mercyhurst twice on the road, beating Indiana in a home match-up at Decker, and losing a tough overtime battle against Bowie State by one point.
The Mountaineers are currently in a tie for first place in the PSAC East with Kutztown, both with 7-3 divisional records.
