FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield field hockey drops 9-4 decision at #4 East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG – Mansfield got two goals from freshman Taryn Schawillie but couldn't overcome a five goal after by Jessica Frantz in suffering a 9-4 loss at No. 4 ranked East Stroudsburg Wednesday afternoon.

Frantz scored her first goal five minutes into the game and East Stroudsburg went up 2-0 three minutes later on a coal by Caitlin Brownley before Mansfield cut the advantage to 2-1 40 seconds later on Schawillie's first goal of the game.

East Stroudsburg came right back with a goal by Kayla Cilenti to take a 3-1 halftime advantage.

East Stroudsburg got two quick goals in the first three minutes of the second half from Frantz and Brittany Kocis before Kristy Tutorow scored for Mansfield off an assist from Kylie Davis. Frantz scored again in the 43^rd minute to increase the lead to 6-2 but Schawillie scored her second goal seconds later to close the gap to 6-3.

Frantz put the game away with goals in the 50^th and 51^st minute before Kristyn Grunza off an assist by Tutorow in the 69^th minute.

East Stroudsburg held a 38-19 shot advantage while Mansfield held a 17-9 advantage in corners.

Freshman Kristie Rollman recorded 11 saves in 40 minutes in her first collegiate start.

Mansfield travels to C.W. Post on Sunday.
