Field hockey falls to Millersville University 3-1

Jamie Twist recorded 14 saves but it was not enough to hold off the barrage of shots coming from Millersville University's offense as they claim victory over the Mountaineers 3-1 Saturday afternoon.
Millersville's Tricia Jackson scored just nine minutes into the first half off an assist from Emily Woodland followed by a goal from Paige Morrison with an assist by Ashley Weber 12 minutes later to give them the early 2-0 lead.
Mansfield cut the lead in half with a goal four minutes later from sophomore,
Kristyn Grunza.
Millersville pulled away with an unassisted goal from Emily Manwiller in the 57th minute of the game to finish the scoring off at 3-1 in favor of Millersville.
Millersville offense spent most of the time on the Mountaineer side of the field, launching off 32 shots with 18 on goal. Mansfield only had five shots with three on goal.
Sara Dickinson recorded two saves for Millersville and
Jillian Richards added a defensive save for Mansfield.
Millersville goes to a 6-6 record while Mansfield falls to a 3-6 record but still remains at 2-0 in the PSAC West.
Mansfield will be home on Wednesday, October 13 when they host Houghton College at 4:00 p.m.
