MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mountaineer baseball team (12-30, 2-10 PSAC East) hosted the Shippensburg Raiders (25-17, 12-10 PSAC East) on Thursday (April 23) afternoon, with both games won by the Raiders.Â
Game One: Shippensburg 12, Mansfield 0
Garrett Emerick pitched a total of six innings and had five strikeouts on the day. Slade McTigue, Kahale Burns and Tanner Hoffman had hits in the game.
Shippensburg broke open the scoring in the top of the first with five runs.Â
 Mansfield was unable to score through out the game, while the Raiders were able add seven more to close the game, 12-0.
Game Two: Shippensburg 10, Mansfield 4
Ryan Sink started the game for the Mounties picking up three strikeouts.
Both teams sat scoreless in the first, when the Raiders snuck through with a run in the second.
Evan Laredo hit a single to left field in the bottom of the first allowing Burns to come home, 1-1.
Shippensburg scored five in the fourth and two in the fifth inning gaining the lead for the first time in the game, 8-1.
The Mounties scored in the fifth off a single from Hoffman giving Laredo a run, and a wild pitch that let Cooper Rother score.
The Raiders were able to pick up two more runs, as Mansfield scored one for a final score of 10-4.
