MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mountaineer baseball team (11-25, 2-14 PSAC East) hosted the East Stroudsburg Warriors (21-12, 10-6 PSAC East) on Saturday (April 11) afternoon, for the 2026 home opener game with Mansfield dropping both.
Game One: ESU 10, Mansfield 0
Peter Tadic and Brinden Floyd each recorded hits to lead the Mountaineers offensively, while the pitching staff settled in after a tough start to limit further runs.Â
Mansfield showed resilience throughout the matchup, battling against a strong East Stroudsburg squad despite the 10-0 final.Â
Game One: ESU 10, Mansfield 3
East Stroudsburg started the scoring early in the first inning, with stolen plate and a homer RBI to add three total runs to the scoreboard.
The fourth run was scored in the second inning giving ESU a 4-0 lead.
In the third, Billy Riggs had a long double to left field bringing in two RBI's of Slade McTigue and Tadic.
Cooper Rother followed with a similar double to the right field, which gave Riggs the chance to slide into home, 4-3.
However, the Warriors were unfazed collecting six more runs in sixth inning to seal the deal, 10-3.
