EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Mountaineer baseball team (11-23, 2-12 PSAC East) traveled to compete against the East Stroudsburg Warriors (19-12, 8-6 PSAC East) on Friday (April 10) afternoon, with Mansfield coming up short in both.
Game One: ESU 7, Mansfield 4
East Stroudsburg started with a strong unanswered five innings scoring all seven of their runs.Â
Peter Tadic finally opened the scoring up in the sixth inning with a single to right field, allow allowing Kahale Burns to score.
The Mounties brought in three runs in the final inning, but it was not enough as the Warriors took the game, 7-4.
Game One: ESU 4, Mansfield 2
The starting pitcher for game two was Ryan Sink, who pitched a total of five innings, only giving up four hits and two earned runs.Â
Once again, the Warriors were the first put a run on the board starting off game two in the second inning.
Ryan Sekulski hit a long single to left field, collecting an RBI and a run with Brinden Floyd at home, 1-1.
A response back in the same format gave East Stroudsburg their second run of the game.Â
Freshman Tanner Hoffman hit a single to right field in the top of the fourth giving Nick Ledger the chance to score, 2-2.
ESU was able to push past the Mountaineers and score two more runs in the fourth and sixth innings giving them a final score of 4-2.
