Second Half Slips Away From Mounties in Conference Battle

The Mansfield Women’s basketball team competed in conference action Wednesday evening.

MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers women's basketball team competed on February 4, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action against Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles secured the win, with a final score of 75-55.

Jenna Kasmierski led the Mountaineers with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Katie Sheeler contributed 13 points and Delilah Nazih put up 10 points. 

Kasmierski lit up the Mansfield (2-20, 0-14 PSAC) offense and put the first points on the board, sinking a splash 3. 

A brisk back and forth battle between the Mountaineers and Bald Eagles (16-5, 12-3 PSAC) ensued after the first few minutes of play. 

At the end of an exciting two quarters, Ty Woody made a paramount 3 pointer, pulling the mountaineers ahead with a score of 34-32. 

After a valiant effort, the second half slipped away from Mansfield and Lock Haven ended the game 75-55.

The Mountaineers are set to compete on February 7 at Millersville University with tip-off at 1:00 pm.
