MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers women's basketball team (3-23, 1-18 PSAC) competed against Bloomsburg, on Wednesday February 18, at Decker Gymnasium. The Mountaineers dropped the contest 61-49.

Katie Sheeler led with 26 points, five rebounds, two assists. and one block.

KJ Gordon collected seven points, four rebounds and one assist.

Bloomsburg (12-12, 9-10 PSAC) started the game strong, holding a small lead of 7-5 after the first five minutes of play.

The Mounties (3-23, 1-18 PSAC) were able to keep the lead at six points,  13-7, at the end of the first.

Mansfield found their groove in the second quarter, slicing the deficit to two, thanks to a Sheeler lay-up.

Both teams fought for the lead with the Huskies maintaining a comfortable score of 29-22 going into halftime.

The battle continued out of the half with teams trading baskets, where Sheeler cut the deficit down to one with six minutes left in quarter.

They each sat tight being held by each others defense with 48-43.

The Huskies held through the final minutes and secured the 61-49 win.
