Mansfield Compete at Home Against West Chester

The Mansfield men’s basketball team competed in conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield University men's basketball team competed in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Friday January 2 against Edinboro University, with the Fighting Scots taking the win 92-68.

JuJu Pagan led the Mountaineers with 15 points, one steal, and one rebound.

Jackson Henry collected 13 points, one block and two rebounds.

West Chester set the tone early, opening the contest with back-to-back finishes at the rim and quickly building momentum in transition.

Mansfield answered in the opening minutes behind baskets from Josh Franklin, Sterling Scott, and Julian Wilson, but West Chester continued to capitalize on second-chance opportunities to extend their lead.

The Golden Rams shot efficiently throughout the first half and went into the break ahead 58–33.

Mansfield showed resilience coming out of halftime, with Pagan, Nasir Brown, and Henry providing scoring sparks as the Mounties found more success attacking the paint.

Despite the improved offensive rhythm, West Chester maintained control by converting turnovers into points and continuing to finish inside, keeping the margin in double figures.

The Mounties continued to battle through the final stretch, receiving contributions from multiple players off the bench, but the Golden Rams' depth and shooting efficiency proved to be the difference.

Mansfield ultimately fell 113–75, closing out the home contest at Decker Gymnasium.
