WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Mansfield University women's basketball team competed on January 31, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action against West Chester. The Golden Rams secured the win, with a final score 71-44.
Jenna Burkett led the Mountaineers with 13 points, while KJ Gordon and Katie Sheeler each added eight points.Â
Jenna Kasmierski contributed seven points and seven rebounds in the effort.
Mansfield trailed 13–9 after the first quarter and could not seem to find offensive rhythm in the second period, scoring just three points as West Chester carried a 26–12 lead into halftime.
The Mountaineers responded with their strongest stretch in the third quarter, scoring 20 points to trim the deficit to 44–32 entering the final period.
West Chester pulled away in the fourth quarter, using a late run to secure the 71–44 conference victory.
