KUTZTOWN, Pa.- The Mansfield Mountaineers women's basketball team was defeated by the Kutztown Golden Bears 90-66, on the road, Thursday, Jan. 29.

Four Mounties were in double figures
KJ Gordon was the leading scorer with 17 points.
Jenna Kasmierski had a double-double 15 points and 12 rebounds. Both were Mansfield career highs.
Amiyah Nguyen had a career high 13 points and
Katie Sheeler had 11 points.Â

Mansfield (2-18, 0-13 PSAC)Â got off to a steady start using outside shots from Gordon and Kasmierski to go up 10-8 through the first half of quarter one. Kutztown (12-8, 8-5 PSAC) would excel coming out of the midway closing the quarter out on a 15-6 run, leading 23-16 after one. Gordon and Kasmierski combined for 13 of the first 16 points.Â

That tandem would strike first with back-to-back three point baskets, before the Golden Bears responded with a 16-1 run. Nguyen kept the Mounties from being left behind, netting nine points in the quarter from that point. Mansfield trailed at the half 50-36.Â

Gordon and Kasmierski continued to attempt the charge with the outside shot. The Mounties ended the quarter on a 16-11 swing. They trailed 68-52 entering the final quarter.

The Mountaineers were unable to go in a run in the final quarter and fell to the Golden bears 90-66.
