MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineer women's basketball team and fifth year head coach
Amy Senefelder welcome seven new members to the program as the Mounties begin the 2025-26 campaign.
Six freshmen and one transfer headline Mansfield's incoming recruiting class—the largest freshmen class of Coach Senefelder's tenure. She has added both talent and depth across every position, strengthening the roster for the season ahead.
The Mounties aim to return to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) postseason after narrowly missing a second straight berth last year. With this new core, Senefelder's squad enters the campaign poised to make a significant impact on the court.
Leading the charge is standout guard
Katie Sheeler, an All-PSAC Second Team selection and the conference's top three-point shooter last season. Sheeler drained 73 threes—second most in a single season in program history—and tied the school record with eight in a game at Shippensburg. The sophomore averaged 16.6 points, recorded 11 games of 20 or more, and ranked fourth in the PSAC in both scoring and free throws made (117), positioning her as a key figure in Mansfield's postseason push.
After an exhibition with St. Bonaventure, the Mountaineers open the regular season with the PSAC/CIAA Challenge tournament hosted by Clarion. This two-day, four-team classic starts with Mansfield against Bluefield State University on November 14, followed by Livingstone College to end the weekend on November 15.
