Raymond Helps Mounties Dominate at Leopard Invite

EASTON, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers Men's track and field team dominate in all areas at the Leopard Invite, hosted by Lafayette University on Saturday, Mar. 29.

Cahsid Raymond had the second longest long jump in program history, winning first with a mark of 6.93 meters and qualifying for the PSAC Championships.

Jerry Holmes Jr. finished in eighth with 6.40 meters which is the sixth furthest in program history and Josh Culver with a personal best of 5.49 meters in the long jump as well.

Raymond crushed the competition in the 100-meter dash taking first once again, meeting the PSAC standards and taking the spot at the second fastest time in program history with 10.48. Following Raymond were teammates Pius Adomako (20th – 11.30) giving him the 9th fastest time in program history, Holmes (30th – 11.61) and Ibrahim Sheriff (36th – 12.08). 

Jonathan McDannell ran the 110-meter hurdles where he finished eighth a time of 16.08, making him the fifth fastest hurdler in program history.

Raymond qualified in the 200 meter as well with a time of 21.78 taking fourth place, which is now the third fastest time in the program books. Adomako and Sheriff competed as well in the 200-meter placing 21st with 22.81, a personal best, and 49th with a time of 25.11.

Jackson Doughty raced in the 400-meter placing eighth with a time of 52.07, following was Khyre Inman in 26thplace with 55.96.

Seth Neal finished 10th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:03.47 while Nathaniel Welch placed 12th with 2:06.35.

Greysen Kupsky for the first time in his collegiate career participated in the 3000-meter steeple chase where he finished sixth with 12:08.93.

Rylan Ebner and Derek Simpson both competed in the 5000-meter attaining fifth and sixth with 17:56.83 and 18:25.65.

A team of Ajani Gibson, Adomako, Holmes and Raymond placing fourth with a time of 43.85 in the 4 x 100-meter relay. 

Rounding out the day for the Mountaineers was the 4 x 400-meter relay, where the team consisting of McDannell, Neal, Welch and Sheriff finished in sixth with 3:37.85.

Marcus Quaker took eighth in javelin with 48.63 meters. Kupsky debuted as a thrower taking 17th with a mark of 30.14 meters.

Quaker also collected a personal record in discus where he finished 15th with 35.32 meters. Michael Beals competed alongside Quaker where he threw 16.34 meters placing 20th.

Beals added another throwing event to his repertoire his first ever mark in the hammer throw placing 12th with 12.64 meters. 

Quaker finished his day in shot put where he placed 20th with a mark of 10.84 meters.

Gibson and Culver both rounded out the day at triple jump placing 10th with 12.38 meters and 16th with a mark of 10.07 meters. Gibson now holds the eighth furthest distance in program history.
