HOUGHTON, N.Y.- The Mansfield Mountaineer women's track and field team opened the indoor track season at the Houghton December Classic with memorable debuts from newcomers, on Fri. Dec. 5.

Freshman
Wyoming Trudeaux claimed victory in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:41.28. The time is the second fastest in school history.Â

Samantha Newman won her heat in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.27. Then bested that time to finish 6
thwith a time of 8.21 seconds in the finals. That time ties Katrina Brumfield in 10 fastest in Mansfield program history.Â

Newman also claimed the fourth best triple jump mark in program history with a 10.72-meter mark and a fourth-place finish.

Also competing in the 60-meter dash was
Sandra Lemus Imariana Leuci, and
Makayla Robicheaux. The trio finished with times of 8.46 (personal best), 8.68, and 8.80 respectively. Leuci ran in the 200-meter dash finishing with a time of 31.29.

Mayla Falank, and
Libby Moore finished eighth and ninth in the 5K with times of 21:52.04, and 23:14.65.Â

Madison Ziska finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 4.92 meters.Â

Marissa Allen finished 13
th with a time of 5:40.62 in the mile, and
Abigail Davies had a time of 6:36.83.Â

Lillie Maynard finished 19
th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.89 in her debut.Â
Â
A quartet of Maynard, Ziska, Allen, and Trudeaux finished second in the 4x400 meter relay, with a time of 4:23.43.

Newman, Lemus, Robicheaux, and Leuci teamed up to finish fifth in the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:58.46.Â
