Raymond Headlines With PSAC Qualifying And Fourth Fastest 60-Dash at RIT

Five top three finishes contribute to successful outing.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Cahsid Raymond had a first-place finish in the 60-meter to highlight the Mansfield Mountianeers men's track and field team at the RIT Friday Night Invite on Jan. 24.

Raymond ran a prelim of 7.09 and then came back in the final to take the gold with a time of 7.05. That is the fourth fastest time in program history.

Jerry Holmes Jr. jumped up to a podium finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.82 meters placing third. Holmes also ran a 7.69 in the 60-meter dash.

Jackson Doughty had a top-five finish in the 300-meter dash placing fourth with a time of 36.47 which bested his program's top three time.

Noah Shedden and Derek Simpson took on the 5k and Shedden took second with a time of 16:28.36 and Simpson was not far behind with a time of 17:10.80.

Marcus Quaker opened up his day in the shotput putting up a mark of 10.77 meters.

In the 400-meter dash, Ibrahim Sheriff and Seth Neal took 15th and 16th respectively with times of 55.22 and 55.90.

Nathaniel Welch took 12th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:48.34. Greysen Kupsky finished with a time of 3:07.97.

The team of Sheriff, Holmes, Gibson, and Raymond took third in the 4x200-meter relay with a team time of 1:37.74.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Jon McDannell, Quaker, Neal, and Doughty took a second-place finish in a time of 3:36.56.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Thursday (Jan. 30) as the team travels back to Rochester for the RIT Thursday night meet.
