STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-Â The Mansfield Mountaineers men's track and field team opened up the indoor season competing in the STAC Spartan Classic, held at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility, on Friday Jan. 10.

The Mounties saw a few performers land on the top ten list for Mansfield Track and Field.

Jon McDannell finished 24
th in the 60-meter high hurdles, clocking in at 9.33. That is the sixth fastest in program history, in his first collegiate race.
Â
Marcus Quaker competed in the 60-meter dash finishing with a time of 7.18. That mark ties him for seventh fastest in program history with Josh Bucior.Â

Quaker was joined by
Jerry Holmes Jr.,
Ibrahim Sheriff,
Ajani Gibson and
Michael Beals in the race. The quartet finished with times of 7.65 (94
th), 7.66 (98
th), 8.01 (116
th), and 8.78 (119
th).

That quartet also competed in the 200-meter dash finishing in the same order with times of 24.47 (83
rd), 25.20 (94
th), 25.79 (101
st) and 31.12 (107
th).

Gibson, Holmes, McDannell, and Sheriff teamed up for the 4x200-meter relay finishing 13
th with a time of 1:37.16.Â

Sheriff, Quaker, McDannell and Gibson teamed up for the 4x400-meter relay to close out the meet finishing ninth with a time of 3:39.19.

In the 500-meter dash,
Jackson Doughty was the top Mountie, finishing 19
th with a time of 1:09.67. less then half a second from the Mountaineer top ten list.
Seth Neal finished just behind in 20
th with a time of 1:10.12.
Greysen Kupsky finished 34
th with a time of 1:22.11.Â

Derek Simpson took 20
th in the 1000-meter run clocking in at 3:05.82 Simpson also ran the 3K finishing with a time of 9:45.12 (38

In the Mile,
Nathaniel Welch and
Noah Shedden finished back-to-back 35
th and 36
th with times of 4:54.16 and 4:55.27 respectively.Â

A distance medley relay team of Neal, Doughty, Welch, and Shedden finished ninth with a time of 11:15.32.Â

The Mounties are back in action Saturday Jan. 18, as they travel to the River Hawk Invite hosted by Susquehanna University.
