BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers baseball team (14-30, 7-23 PSAC East) traveled to Bloomsburg to take on the Huskies (15-31, 10-20 PSAC East) and begin their final series of the year.Â
GAME 1: Bloomsburg 7 - Mansfield 0
Bloomsburg pushed across the game's first run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead.Â
After adding another in the third, Bloomsburg broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning.Â
In the fourth, the Huskies tallied five hits, including a three-run home run that put an exclamation point on the inning.
The Mansfield offense looked to begin to chip away in the fifth putting runners on first and second after singles from Ryan Sekulski and Jeffrey Coakley but couldn't drive in any runs as the game remained 7-0.Â
Austin Beauchamp relieved Mansfield starter Ryan King in the bottom of the fifth and struck out the first two batters he faced.
Beauchamp threw two scoreless innings out of the pen, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
The Mountaineers registered just five hits in game one as the Huskies took it 7-0.Â
GAME 2: Bloomsburg 16Â - Mansfield 2
Cole Serfass drove in the first Mountie run of the day with an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the first to score Zachary Shertzer.Â
BU responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at one.Â
The Huskies' second big inning on the day came in the bottom of the second when they put up seven runs on six hits.
Serfass' second RBI of the game came in the top of the third when he doubled through the left side to score Jackson Halla.Â
Bloomsburg added six more runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth to extend their lead to 14-2.Â
Bloomsburg took game two by a final score of 16-2.Â
