BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team (6-15, 4-12 PSAC East) were defeated by the Bloomsburg Huskies (4-17, 3-12 PSAC East) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest on Wednesday afternoon, falling against Bloomsburg by a score of 82-78. 

Scott Woodring led the way for the Mounties, scoring his season-high of 25 points, including 18 points in the first half, shooting 4-6 from beyond the arc and ended with eight rebounds on the night. 

Saraj Ali finished with 19 points and five rebounds in the conference clash.  

Woodring scored the first 13 points for the Mounties, opening out to the early 13-8 lead. The junior pushed out 18 of Mansfield's first 22 points, holding the 22-12 advantage.  

The Mountaineers used this offensive force to hold a 43-36 lead heading into the half. 

To start out the second half, Bloomsburg pushed out a 16-4 start in the first five minutes, surfacing a 52-47 stint.  

As the teams battled back and forth during the second half of the game, the Huskies held the 60-55 advantage before the Mounties scored 12 unanswered points, with Mansfield retaking the lead at 67-60. 

The Huskies did not go quiet and answered back with a 16-4 run to hold the 76-71 lead with under four minutes remaining. 

Seven Mountie points gave a 78-76 edge with 1:30 remaining, but the home team tied it up at 78 with 1:07 to go.  

To finish off the night, a Bloomsburg dagger with 29 seconds remaining and insurance from the charity stripe gave the Huskies the 82-78 victory.
