ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y.-  Former Mansfield University baseball standout Assaf Lowengart '22 has signed a professional contract to play for the New York Boulders of the Frontier League on Feb. 8.
 
Lowengart is the 60^th Mountaineer to ink a professional contract.
 
The New York Boulders are entering their 12th season of professional baseball as members of the  Frontier League. Founded as the Rockland Boulders in 2011, the franchise rebranded as the New York Boulders in advance of the 2020 season and plays their home games at Clover Stadium in Pomona, NY
 
Lowngart was a standout for the Mountaineers baseball team hitting .356 his senior season and had 22 career home runs in his two years with the squad. Lowengart was named 2022 Spring Male Athlete of the Year, Won the Creed award for Culture, Iron Mountie of the year, 2nd-Team All-PSAC, First-Team D2CCA and Honorable NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Utility Player, all as a senior.
 
Lowengart represented his country of Israel at the Tokyo Summer Olympics and 2021 European Championships.
