Box Score MANSFIELD, Pa. - With just six games remaining in the regular season, the Mansfield Mountaineers women's basketball team (10-12, 7-10 PSAC East) hosted the Shepherd University Rams (6-16, 4-13 PSAC East) Saturday afternoon for a pivotal Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup.
With today's win the Mountaineers eclipse 10 wins in a season for the first time since 2011-12.
Jasmine Hilton moved up to third all-time in career points with her and-one layup in the middle of the third quarter. She recorded her eighth double-double on the year scoring 12 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and swatting one shot.
Kristen Fulford was the leading scorer on the night scoring a career-high 21 points.
Minyhah Easterling dominated down low with a career-high 14 points, while also grabbing six rebounds. A dominating first quarter of play for the Mounties led to a comfortable 19-9 lead at the end of one.
The dynamic duo of Hilton and Fulford led the Mounties to a long 14-0 run to put the Mountaineers up 31-9 in the second quarter.
The Mounties finished the first half with a commanding 38-15 lead.
Fulford kept her foot on the gas opening up the second half with nine points in the third quarter to extend their lead to 47-19.
Hilton knocked down three consecutive free throws on back-to-back possessions to give Mansfield a 33-point advantage, their largest lead of the night.
Easterling capped off her 14-point night with a layup at the 4:04 mark of the fourth quarter.
The Mounties finished the game with a layup from Lauren Miller to close out their 85-54 victory.
