MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers Men's basketball team (2-6, 0-3) took on the nationally ranked Gannon Golden Knights (11-1, 3-0) with a 113-67 loss at Marion Decker Gymnasium.
Sterling Scott lead the Mounties with 14 points shooting 6-12 from the floor.
Lleyton Fried came off the bench and provided another career high 11 points, one assist, and one steal.
Mansfield started the game strong with an opening three-ball from Owen Chambers. In the first five minutes of the first half, the Mounties kept their feet beneath them and stayed tied with the Golden Knights at eight points each.
After this, the Golden Knights took control and never looked back. The Knights went on a 20-0 run and ended the first half with a score of 49-26.
Coming out of the half the Golden Knights kept their foot on the gas. They extended their lead to 31.
The Golden Knights ended the night scoring 113 points with four guys in double digits led by Mason Kemp who ended the game with 24 points,8 rebounds, and 3 steals.
