SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Mansfield men's basketball team (3-8, 1-4 PSAC) traveled to take on conference opponent Slippery Rock University (6-6, 3-2 PSAC) at Morrow Field House. The Rock came away with the victory at home over the Mountaineers by a score of 105-62.
Scott Woodring led the Mounties in rebounds with 12 and in points with 11, ending the night with a double-double.
Nasir Brown followed up Woodring in points for the Mounties with 10 on 4 of 8 shooting.
The Mountaineers started strong with an Owen Chambers three ball to tie the game 9-9 within the first five minutes of the game.
The Rock responded with a powerful slam, extending their lead to 16-10 going into the under-12 media timeout.
The Rock expanded their lead to 13 with just five minutes left in the first half and both teams went into the locker room with The Rock up 49-29.
Coming out of the break the Mountaineers cut the deficit back to 16 off of two free throws from Woodring at the 14-minute mark.
Slippery Rock stepped on the gas and never looked back, taking the conference win over the Mounties 105-62.
