MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team (0-2) fell to the Claflin Panthers (1-1) in the Ron Wilson Classic on Sunday, November 10 by a final score of 87-47.
LJ Stansbury led the Mounties with 14 points and five rebounds.
Nasir Brown added nine points and four rebounds.Â
Following the under-16-minute media timeout of the first half, the Panthers went on a 13-2 run to open a 21-8 lead.Â
Claflin's second extended run of the game extended their lead to 38-14 with 5:46 remaining in the first half.Â
Mansfield traded baskets with the Panthers over the last five-plus minutes, entering halftime trailing 48-24.Â
Claflin utilized an 11-0 run to take a 74-39 advantage over the Mounties with under ten to go in the game.Â
Mansfield shot 35% (17-50) from the field and only 21% (4-19) from three in the game.Â
