SELINSGROVE, Pa. -The Mansfield University track and field team opened up the 2023 outdoor season by competing in the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday March 25.
In the men's 400-meter dash,
Terrance Quaker,
Jackson Doughty and
Sean Ringgold finished third (51.61), fourth (51.79) and sixth (52.10) in the event. Roandy Sanchez (13
th, 52.92),
Connor Bridwell (21
st, 54.04) ,
Aaron Thomas (28
th, 55.00), and
Derrick Johnson (40
th, 58.94) rounded out the Mountaineer finishers.
On the Women's side of the 400-meter dash,
Kayla Crawford was the top Mountaineer finisher taking 10
thplace with a personal best 1:03.17.
Skylar Brown and
Jakayla Holmes finished 25
th (1:05.88) and 34
th(1:09.62) respectively.
David Wootten highlighted a men's contingent of 1500-meter run runners, finishing fifth with a time of 4:06.65. Wooten was joined by
Seth Neal (4:23.20),
Derek Simpson (4:28.33),
Baba Toure (4:31.43), and
Isaac Showers (4:36.99), who finished with in 26
th, 32
nd, 36
th and 44
th respectively.
Carly Daniels was the top Mountaineer in the women's 1500-meter run, finishing eighth with a personal best time of 4:56.11. She was joined by
Bailey Morgan (22
nd, 5:13.65),
Anna Duncan (26
th, 5:18.71),
Angie Colon (28
th, 5:19.02),
Carrie Claypool (35

rd, 6:11.81) as the Mountie finishers.
In there debuts, Blaze Wood finished 22
nd in the women's javelin with a mark or 23.44 meters. Deleaney Clark had a mark of 16.95 meters to finish 40
th.
On Friday evening, Kaelyn Crawford made her debut in the women's shot put finishing 33
rd with a top throw of 8.14 meters.
Mansfield is back in action starting Friday, March 31, as they compete in the two-day Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary.
