CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Mansfield University men's basketball team fell on the road at California (Pa.) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action on Wednesday Jan. 25.
The Mounties (5-12, 4-9 PSAC) erased a 13-point deficit to tie the game up 52-52 with 12:16 remaining, but the Vulcans (9-10, 6-7 PSAC) outpaced Mansfield the rest of the way 35-24.
Four Mansfield starters were in double figures with
Scott Woodring leading the way with 15 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Gabe Perez and
Idris Ali each added 14 points.
Saraj Ali had 13 points, seven rebounds and added a pair of blocks.
Mansfield shot 48% from the floor and 33% from behind the arc. The Vulcans were 28-64 (43%) from the floor yet managed 11 three-point baskets to give them the edge.
California (Pa.) also had four starters in double figures lead by KJ McClurg who had 19 points.
The Mountaineers return home on Saturday, Jan. 28 as they welcome the Marauders of Millersville University inside Decker Gymnasium.
