HOUGHTON, N.Y.-
Skylar Brown and
Carly Daniels shined for the Mansfield University track and field team, combining for three top finishes at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21.
Brown took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.32. That time is the sixth-fastest time in program history in the event. She also won the 60-meter dash with a final's time of 7.86.
Daniels was the top finisher in the 3K crossing the line in 10:28.61. That is her second consecutive PSAC qualifying performance in 2023.
Magi Earnest and
Jakayla Holmes joined Brown in the 200-meter dash finishing 10
th (29.76) and 11
th (29.91), respectively.
Madison Ziska finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.34.
In the mile,
Bailey Morgan was the top Mountie runner finishing fourth with a time of 5:31.76.
Carrie Claypool finished 12
th (5:45.16) and
Shelby Alexander finished 23
rd (5:57.39) in the race.
Kayla Crawford finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.73.
The 800-meter run saw
Anna Duncan finish eighth with a time of 2:35.56 and
Anissa Lytle finishing 23
rd with a time of 2:53.63.
A Mansfield 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Alexander, Claypool, Morgan, and Duncan finished ninth in 4:50.20.
The Mansfield University track and field team is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 28 as they compete in the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell University.
