LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- Freshman Abigail Taylor shattered the Mansfield track and field outdoor triple jump record and five other Mounties claimed victory at the Elliston Earlybird Open on Saturday April 9.
Taylor hit a mark of 11.62 meters in the triple jump, placing her second in the Atlantic Region. That smashed the previous record of 11.16 meters set in 2008 by Katie Foster.
The day was started off by freshman David Wootten and sophomore Abraham Calderon both running PSAC qualifying 10K. Wootten landed in the top ten all time with a 33:39.06 time. Calderon had a career best 33:50.78.
Freshman Angie Colon finished 3rd in the women's 10K finishing with a time of 43:23.99.
The Mounties swept the pole vault with Senior Ben Chambers taking the men's competition clearing 3.45 meters. Junior Rylie Mong tied for the top spot for the women clearing 3.05 meters.
Senior Sean Ringgold collected a victory in the 200-meter dash finishing with a 22.10. Junior Terrance Quaker finished fourth in the 23.25, Junior Brenden Sofo finished with a 23.77 for ninth, and Michael Beals finished 21st with 26.37.
Ringgold set a new PR in the 400-meter dash with a 48.95 which rises him up to third on the outdoor record book. Quaker finished in fifth with a 50.78, freshman Jackson Doughty (9th, 53.07), freshman Eli Swan (13th , 57.92) and Beals (14th, 1:03.96) rounded out the finishers.
Freshman Aliyah Serrano took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a 26.05. Junior Skylar Brown finished in second crossing in 26.50. Freshman Island Blanche took fourth in the race with a time of 27.83.
Blanche also competed in the 100-meter dash finishing second with a finals time of 13.09.
Sophomore Anna Duncan finished fourth in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.28. Freshman Seth Neal took 8th in the men's race finishing in 2:02.31.
In the Women's 3K, freshman Carri Claypool finished third with a time of 11:17.45 to lead the pack of Mounties which included juniors Shelby Alexander (4th 11:18.75) and Bailey Morgan (5th, 11:33.35) finishing right behind.

The Mounties will return to the track on April 23, as they travel to Baltimore to compete in the Hopkins Loyola Invite.
