MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Senior
Sean Ringgold won the 200-meter dash, and freshman
Aliyah Serrano and junior
Skylar Brown finished first and second in the 100-meter dash to highlight a solid performance by the Mansfield University Track team at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday, April 2.
Ringgold took the 200-meter dash with time of 21.83, hitting career best time. He also took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.11.
Serrano and Brown finished with times of 12.36 and 12.58 to be the first athletes across the line in the 100-meter dash.
The pair joined freshmen
Island Blanche and
Abigail Taylor to team up for the 4x100 meter relay. The quartet took second place with a time 49.65.
Taylor also finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.92. That ties the mark for second best all-time in Mountie history.
Junior
Rylie Mong finished fifth in the pole vault clearing a height of 3.30 meters. On the men's side, senior
Ben Chambers finished 15
th clearing 3.30 meters.
Junior
Terrance Quaker finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.11. Sophomore
Michael Beals finished with a time of 13.07 in the 100-meter dash and 25.87 in the 200-meter dash.
Freshman
David Wootten claimed a top five finish, crossing in fourth place, in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:05.97.
Sophomore
Abraham Calderon finished 21st (4:14.09), freshmen
Seth Neal 24
th (4:20.84),
Owen Showers 37
th (4:34.67) and sophomore
Simon Richards 43
rd (4:52.56) rounded out the finishers.
This group also competed in the 800-meter run later in the meet. Wooten finished 12
th with a time of 2:02.63. The rest of the contingent finished, Neal (29
th 2:08.33) Calderon (33
rd, 2:13.50) Showers (39
th 2:16.47) and Richards (48
th 2:25.52).
Wooten, Neal, Calderon, Showers returned for the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet finished 13
th with a time of 3:47.42.
In the women's 800-meter run, sophomore
Anna Duncan was the top Mountie with a time of 2:33.34 to finish 18
th. Freshman
Carri Claypool (28
th, 2:39.29) juniors
Bailey Morgan (30
th, 2:41.57), and
Shelby Alexander (33
rd 3:43.44) and freshman
Angie Colon (36
th 2:45.31) rounded out the finishers.
The women's 1500-meter run was led by Claypool who finished 24
th (5:25.22) Morgan (5:25.53) and Colon (5:25.77) were the next two finishers. Sophomore
Tedra Harrison (31
st, 5:32.54) and Junior
Carly Daniels (37
th, 5:49.99) rounded out the Mounties.
The Mountaineers return to action Saturday, April 9 as they travel to Lock Haven for the LHU Invite.
