SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Senior
Sean Ringgold and freshman
Aliyah Serrano collected victories to highlight a promising showing for the Mansfield University men's and women's track and field teams at the Jim Taylor Invite on Saturday, March 26.
Ringgold shined in the three events he took part in on the day, taking the top spot in the 200-meter dash. The senior cross the finish line with a time of 22.37. In the 100-meter dash , Ringgold qualified for the finals after running 11.07 in the preliminary, then tying his personal-best 11.03 in the finals to take third place.
Ringgold also joined freshmen
Jackson Doughty and
Aaron Thomas and junior
Brenden Sofo in the 4x100 meter relay. The quartet took fifth place with a time of 44.19.

Michael Beals competed in the 100-meter dash as well, finishing in 35th (11.69) and 63rd (12.68) Beal finished his 200-meter dash in 26.55
Serrano had a stellar start to her collegiate outdoor track career, taking the top spot in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.29, which is the third fastest in program history. Serrano was joined by junior
Skylar Brown and freshman
Island Blanche in the finals of that race. Brown finished third with a time of 12.57 which marks the sixth fastest time in program history. Blanche finished sixth in the event with a time of 13.05
This group would return in the 200-meter dash where Serrano would finish second, with a time of 25.99. That time is the fifth fastest in program history. Brown would take eighth (27.03) and Blanche took 19th (27.71)
The trio was joined by freshman
Abigail Taylor in the 4 by 100-meter relay where they would be the third fastest team with a time of 51.19.
Junior
Terrance Quaker collected a third place finish in the 400-meter dash crossing the line in 51.79. He was joined by freshman
Eli Swan, who finished 36th with a time of 57.08. In the women's 400-meter dash
Anna Duncan finished 37th with a time of 1:08.31.

Rylie Mong tied her career-best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.35 m to take home a fifth-place finish. senior
Ben Chambers hit his career-best on the men's side with a pole vault Mark of 3.60
In the 1500-meter run freshman
Seth Neal was the top male Mountaineer Finishing 42nd with a time of 4:23.74. fellow first-year
Owen Showers finished 70th (4:41.60) and sophomore
Simon Richards finished 83rd (4:52.28).
On the women's side the top Mountaineer finisher was
Carri Claypool in 42nd with a time of 5:23.99. Juniors
Shelby Alexander and
Bailey Morgan finished 48th (5:32.32) and 55th ( 5:37.56) respectively.
Sophomore
Tedra Harrison was the top Mountaineer female in the 5K finishing 34th with a time of 20:53.13. Freshman
Angie Colon finished 38th with a time of 21:23 54, And Junior
Carly Daniels finished out the pack finishing 40th with a time of 21:46.60.
Freshman
David Wootten paced the Mountaineer men in the 5K finishing 30th with a time of 16:19.14. sophomore
Abraham Calderon finished 61st with a time of 17:34.66 and freshman
Isaac Showers finished just behind with a time of 17:35.44.
The day closed out with the Mountaineer men competing in the 4x400m relay and a team of Quaker, Doughty, Swan and Neal. This quartet finished fifth were they time of 3:35.26.
The Mounties are set to return Saturday April 2nd as they travel to Millersville Pa. the site of this year's PSAC championships, to compete in the Millersville Metrics.
