Christian Tanner led the way for the Mansfield University Track and Field team on day two of the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, as both athletes qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run, respectively.
Ringgold clocked a PR in the 400-meter dash finishing in 49.40, which gave him the second fastest time going into finals tomorrow. Â The time also moves him up to fifth all-time at Mansfield.
Sophomore Terrence Quaker finished his season, joining Ringgold in the 400-meter dash crossing in 51.03 (12th).
Ringgold was to compete in the 200-meter dash, but after a lightning delay the 200-meter dash will move a timed final Saturday. The race will also be reseated. The event will take place at the scheduled time. Â
Tanner was an automatic finals qualifier in the 800-meter run after finishing second in his heat and third overall notching a PR time of 1:54.70.
Junior Donoven Cook's was the first Mountie to compete on the day participating in the long jump. His top mark was 6.42 meters, finishing 12th.
Sophomore Henry Polanco and freshman Tegann Anderson were Mansfield's representatives in the 100-meter dash. Polanco finished 13th in the men's race clocking in at 11.39. Anderson finished 14th in the women's race, with a time of 12.92.
Junior Caden Fisher, who came in as the only Mountaineer with prior PSAC Outdoor Championship experience, finished 14th in the 110 hurdle preliminaries crossing the line in 16.15.
Six individual Mounties and the 4x400 relay team will compete Saturday, in the final day of the championship and will look to collect all-conference honors.
