MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women's basketball team is seeking their first win of the season as non-conference opponent Nyack College comes to town on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. inside Decker Gymnasium.
The team is looking to bounce back from an 0-2 start in front of the Mountaineer faithful on Saturday afternoon.
The Mounties have been relentless through the opening two games of the Head Coach
Amy Senefelder era. The Mounties clawed to remain neck-and-neck with D'Youville College and Roberts Wesleyan College, despite shooting 27 percent from the floor. If MU can improve on their efficiency, especially around the rim, the sky is the limit for this young group.
Saturday is just the second game in the all-time series with Nyack, who downed MU, 70-57, in 2019-20.
ADMISSION
Anyone who is attending the basketball games and contributes to the shelter will receive complimentary admissions.
Donations needed include food, cleaning products and laundry pods. The softball team invites guests and attendees of the games to also participate in a Chinese auction in Decker Gymnasium lobby throughout the duration of the evening.

The Mounties fell 67-54 in a non-conference contest at Roberts Wesleyan.
Seniors
Paige Whitfield and
Sydney Reed led the team in scoring, each knocking down four shots from beyond the arc. Whitfield checked out of the game with a season-high 18 points alongside six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Junior
Jasmine Hilton poured in an additional nine points and two rebounds, while sophomore
Logan Nutt pulled down eight boards for the second straight game.
The Mounties fought hard in pursuit of the Redhawk's lead, pulling within four by the end of the first half, but found themselves unable to overcome the opponent's perfect night from free throw line and strong performance on the boards.
MEET THE WARRIORS
Record: 0-1
Last Time Out: L, 89-61 vs. Dist. Columbia

The Warriors finished their previous 2019-20 season under .500 with an 8-19 overall record and a 6-13 record within the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
The team opened the 2021-22 season on the road against University of the District of Columbia, where they were soundly defeated in a result of 89-61.
