MANSFIELD - The Mansfield University softball program is teaming up with the Humane Center to help raise money and awareness for neglected and abused animals with a promotional event at the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against Nyack College on Saturday, Nov. 20 beginning at 1 p.m. inside Decker Gymnasium.

"It's sad that people would abuse animals, but Mansfield Softball is happy to raise money and awareness by working with the
Humane Center," Mountaineer Softball Head Coach Edith Gallagher said. "We hope you can help with a donation of any amount."

The women play at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3 p.m. Anyone who is attending the basketball games and makes a contribution to the shelter will receive complimentary admissions.

Donations needed include food, cleaning products and laundry pods. The softball team invites guests and attendees of the games to also participate in a Chinese auction in Decker Gymnasium lobby throughout the duration of the evening.

Those who are unable to attend the event but still wish to donate to the Humane Center can do so through Venmo and Paypal. The links to each account will be provided before Saturday.
