LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman
Terrance Quaker took the top spot in the 500-meter run to highlight a stellar day for Mansfield University track and field that saw six personal bests and three finalists at the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday night.
Quaker finished as the leader in the 500-meter run pulling away on the final straightaway for a time of 1:08.34. That's just a second of his career best 500 on this same track.
Sophomore
Caden Fisher moved up two spots in the PSAC after finishing the 60-meter hurdle prelims with a personal best 8.65. That time was then matched in the finals to collect a sixth-place finish.
Freshmen
Henry Polanco and
Rammdy Melendez had solid days running in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. In the 60-meter preliminary race both athletes qualified for the finals with Polanco notching a time of 7.15 and Melendez running a career-best 7.37. The pair returned in the finals and Polanco matched his 7.15 time and Melendez was just of his with 7.40. The two finished fourth and seventh, respectively.
In the 200-meter dash the duo was joined by teammate
Michael Guyadeen. Polanco cracked the top ten finishing ninth with a time of 23.65. Melendez and Gyadeen hit times of 24.74 and 26.07.
Senior
Mamadue Diallo finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.21.
Freshman
Christian Tanner notched a top-four finish in the 800-meter dash, while junior
Josh Resimo hit a new PR finishing with a time of 2:09.11
Junior
Lyndsey Payne finished 11th in the mile with a time of 5:29.63
Freshmen
Kevin Heeman and
Jakob Getchel represented the men's team in te mile, with Heeman hitting a PR (4:36:50) and Getchel finishing in 4:49.59.
Senior
Travis Keefe, in his final career indoor solo event, went out in style shattering his previous best time in the 3K by 27 seconds. Keefe finished with a time of 9:18.17.
The freshmen quartet of
Shelby Alexander (11:19.75
, Brooke Hinman (11:51.76)
, Lauran Ensminger (12:08.18)
, and
Carly Daniels (12:46.09) competed in their first collegiate 3K.
The night closed with the Mansfield 4x400 relay team of Quaker, Diallo, Tanner, and Fisher running a 3:32.22.
The Mounties next meet is the PSAC Championship in Edinboro Pa. on Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 29 - March 1.
