LEWISBURG Pa. – Mountie freshmen continue to rise up the Mansfield University track and field record boards with stellar performances on day two of the Bison Open and Multi on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Freshman
Terrance Quaker ran the sixth-fastest 500-meter dash in school history with a time of 1:07.85, placing second. Freshman
Christian Tanner ran the tenth-fastest 3000-meter run in school history, with a second-place time of 8:51.86.
Freshmen
Kevin Heeman snagged a new PR in the mile hitting a time of 4:38.89.
Coming off the 200m dash on Friday night, freshmen
Henry Polanco and
Ramddy Melendez competed in the 60m dash. Polanco finished in 7.15 seconds matching his second-best time all year. Melendez hit a time of 7.50 seconds.
Both athletes also competed in their third race of the weekend, competing in their first 400m dash of the season. They were joined by senior
Mamadou Diallo and sophomore
Caden Fisher. Diallo had the top Mountie time with 52.48. Polanco, Fisher, and Melendez followed with times of 54.85, 55.64, and 56.05 respectively.
The Mountie men have a week off before traveling to Boston, Mass. for a two-day event at Boston University on Feb.14-15.
