STROUDSBURG - The Mansfield University baseball team was unable to take a win on the road from the PSAC East leading East Stroudsburg Warriors on Saturday. The doubleheader's first game ended 7-0, while Game 2 was decided 5-3 in the later innings.Â
Evan McAndrew tossed to start the first game. The senior went four innings and struck out six Warriors, but ESU was able to scrap together 7 runs in the game to take the win. Cam Voss threw six innings and allowed just one hit, while Matt Durkin completed the shutout for East Stroudsburg. For Mansfield, freshman Sean Heery completed the final two innings without allowing a run.Â
Dom Lopez has the line hit entering the seventh inning. His third inning knock stood as the only offensive production for the Mounties until Brady Mengel stepped to the plate in their final ups. Mengel laced a single on the second pitch he saw, but just as quickly as he got on, the Warriors were able to clear the basepaths with a double play behind Durkin, thus eliminating the threat and diminishing any momentum Mengel's hit may have stirred.Â
ESU's seven runs were scored by way of seven hits and two MU miscues in the field. Anthony Torreullas and Christian Rishel both provided doubles and home runs. Torrealas finished 2-for-2 with 3 RBI while Rishel was 2-for-3 at the dish with two ribbies.Â

GAME 2
Joseph DePerno was on the mound in his first start of the season. The Warriors took an early 1-0 lead, but MU was able to garner more offensive production than the first game in just the second inning alone. The frame frame included doubles from Dom Lopez and Eric Senior, with Senior's two-bagger plating Lopez to tie the game. Camren Ney singled to bring Senior around and give MU their first lead of the series.
ESU (17-6) responded with three runs in the third to regain the lead 4-2.Â
Neither team scored again until the fifth inning when Ney ledoff with a single. He advanced to second on a sacrifice from Koty Fitzgerald and was brought home on a double by Kulina to make it 4-3.Â
The Warriors nixed MU's plans for a comeback by answering yet again with another run in the bottom half of the fifth, and closed out the game, keeping the Mounties at bay. The 5-3 win was ESU's seventh-straight win, and their ninth victory in ten games.Â
DePerno went 4.1 innings on the mound and struck out six Warriors but was tabbed with the loss. Hunter DePrimo finished the game with two strikeouts in 1.2 innings of no-hit and no-run ball.Â
The Mounties (4-11) return to Mansfield for the backend of the four-game series with East Stroudsburg with a doubleheader slated for Monday at Shaute Field.
