Malik Carter scored 22 points and
Jeremiah Worthem notched a double-double, but visiting Bloomsburg overcame a 19-point deficit to stun Mansfield in a 74-73 final on Wednesday night at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.
Kyle-Michael Rose hit a pair of free throws with just four seconds remaining in the game to lift Bloomsburg (15-10, 11-10 PSAC East) to the PSAC East win.
Carter went 9-14 from the floor, including 4-5 from 3-point, to pace Mansfield offensively. Worthem scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in his fifth double-double effort of the season.
Matt Tamanosky was the third Mountie in double-figure scoring with 15 points.
Tyler Moffe added nine points for Mansfield (6-19, 5-16 PSAC).
Christian Mortellite connected on eight trifectas to record a game-high 32 points for the Huskies. Kary Mauras added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Bloomsburg led just once in the first half with the Mountaineers ending the frame on a 13-2 run to hold a 41-26 halftime lead.
Mansfield maintained a double-digit lead for the majority of the second half, holding as much as a 19-point advantage on two separate occasions. The Huskies pulled within five points at 62-57 with just over five minutes remaining, but Mansfield countered with a 5-0 run.
Bloomsburg ended the game on a 16-6 to come away with the victory.
The Mountaineers end the season at Cheyney on Saturday.
