MANSFIELD – Mansfield started the game on a 14-4 run but Kutztown rallied in the second half to overtake the Mountaineers 54-38 at First Citizens Community Bank Court on Saturday.

Mary Kate Rumbaugh scored five of her seven points in the first quarter as Mansfield (13-10, 8-9 PSAC) outscored Kutztown (7-16, 5-14 PSAC) 14-4. The Golden Bears went off in the second frame but the Mounties held the 26-19 lead going into the half.

The Bears capitalized on their trips to the charity stripe, pulling away in the fourth quarter.

Rumbaugh and
Alyssa Mullins each scored seven points on Senior Day while
Melanie Taylor topped the Mounties with three assists. Both Rumbaugh and
Mia Leonard grabbed a game-high ten boards with Leonard chipping in six points of her own.
Alayna Biesecker added five points and grabbed five boards.

Rylee Derr scored a game-high 15 points to top Kutztown with Keifonna Ferguson adding eight points and six rebounds.

Mansfield travels to Shippensburg next Saturday before returning to Decker Gymnasium for the last home game of the season against Bloomsburg on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
