Malik Carter posted a double-double with a game-high 26 points to go along with 10 rebounds, but Mansfield came up just short against Kutztown 77-71 on Senior Day at Decker Gymnasium.

Mansfield (6-16, 5-14 PSAC) led early before teams traded buckets and the Golden Bears found themselves on top. Kutztown (16-5, 12-5 PSAC) jumped out to a 17-point advantage at 41-24 with just under four minutes to play in the half before going into the break with a 44-34 lead.

The Bears continued to lead in the second half, but Mansfield managed to work its deficit down to five points with seven minutes to play in the game. The Mountaineers pulled within five points three more times but could not close the gap.

Carter went 12-19 from the floor on the way to his first double-double of the season. He also recorded five assists and three steals.

Tamanosky connected on 50.0% (8-16) of attempts and was 3-3 from the line to score 19 points to go along with seven boards and three assists.
Tyler Moffe was the third Mountie in double-figure scoring with 14 points.

Anthony Lee scored a team-best 20 points for Kutztown and Moe Williams grabbed 18 rebounds.

Mansfield shot just nine free throws in the game, connecting on six, with the Bears going 21-of-28 from the charity stripe.

Mansfield travels to Mercy College on Wednesday for a non-conference match-up.
