MANSFIELD – Tyler Moffe set a new career-high with 26 points, but the Mountaineers fell 94-74 against East Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.
East Stroudsburg (9-2, 6-0 PSAC) opened the game on a 19-0 run before Mansfield (1-10, 0-5 PSAC) could get on the board after a pair of Taylor Sweeney free throws. The Mountaineers would pull to within 13, on the back of 12 Tyler Moffe first-half points, but East Stroudsburg stretched its lead to 23 heading to the locker room.
The Warriors shot 47% from the field, while Mansfield shot 42%, allowing East Stroudsburg to maintain its double-digit lead throughout the second half to stay perfect in conference play.
East Stroudsburg was lead in scoring by senior forward Josh Williams, who finished with 27 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Nick Giordano added 18 points.
Moffe led Mansfield in scoring with 26 points to go along with six rebounds. Taylor Sweeney and Garrett Cook each finished with 14 points.
Mansfield returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 5th when it travels to Lock Haven for a 3p.m. tip-off.
