Mounties Edged by Millersville 70-67

MANSFIELD – Matt Tamanosky scored a game-high 21 points for Mansfield, but Millersville held on to win a close one at Decker Gymnasium 70-67 Monday night in PSAC East action.

The first half featured 11 lead changes with Millersville (5-10, 3-6 PSAC) holding the biggest advantage at six points. The Marauders took a 40-35 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Mansfield (4-8, 3-6 PSAC) faced as much as an eight point deficit, but clawed back to tie the game at 60-60 with under four minutes to play. A Tyler Moffe free throw and a Tamanosky tip-in put the Mounties ahead by three points, but an 8-0 Millersville run gave the Marauders at 68-63 lead with just over a minute in the game.

Mansfield was unable to bridge the gap and dropped its fourth-straight contest.
