SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –
Mary Kate Rumbaugh scored her season-high 15 points but Mansfield couldn't come back from an icy third quarter in an 84-59 conference loss on Saturday afternoon at Slippery Rock.

Rumbaugh went 5-11 from the floor while connecting on 2-of-3 from the outside. The senior grabbed a team-high eight boards.
Brielle Kelly ended the contest with 14 points and six rebounds while
Erin Gibbons added 12 of her own.

After shooting 5-18 from the floor, Mansfield (5-12, 3-8 PSAC) outscored Slippery Rock (9-7, 7-4 PSAC) 22-16 in the second quarter. The Rock Held a 44-35 advantage entering the second half, connecting on nine shots from the outside.

Both teams exchanged baskets to open the half as Rumbaugh and
Alyssa Mullins trifectas brought the Mountaineers within three points of the Rock. Just as the Mounties were catching up, Krista Pietropola sunk a trey to begin a 22-2 run.

Slippery Rock would hold the lead for the remainder of the game to earn the 84-59 decision.

Mansfield saw action from their younger squad in the final frame as
Hailee Simpson scored her first two career points.

Sierra Fordham topped the Rock with 15 points while Pietropola went double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The Rock saw six players in double figure scoring.

The Mountaineers return home to host Shippensburg on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
