MANSFIELD –
Evan McAndrew and
Tyler Guidos allowed just four combined hits as Mansfield held off Lock Haven 3-2 in game two to spit the PSAC East opener on Thursday at Foundation Field.

Lock Haven took game one 7-1.

Neither team could get much going offensively in game one with hits coming at a premium through the first four innings. Lock Haven was first to push runs across in the bottom of the fifth, taking a 2-0 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Mansfield drew a pair of walks before
Peter Pena singled up the middle to score
Taylor Hillson and cut the Lock Haven lead in half.

The Bald Eagles hung five runs on four hits and two errors in the sixth to take a 7-1 advantage. The Mountaineers were unable to respond.

LHU's Jacob Belinda improved to 4-0 with a complete game effort with seven strikeouts and four hits allowed.
Luke Hils took the loss.

Game two featured another pitcher's duel with no runs through the first five innings of action. The Mountaineers ended the scoreless drought when an error by the pitcher allowed
Taylor Hillson and
Brady Mengel to score before
Tanner Klein crossed the plate on a wild pitch a play later.

A Sam Kysor double put a pair of runners in scoring position for Lock Haven in the bottom of the seventh. A sac fly scored a run before an RBI single plated another to bring the Eagles within one run.
Tyler Guidos forced a fly out for the third and final out.

Evan McAndrew allowed just two hits and struck out four batters in 5.0 innings to earn his third win of the year. Guidos pitched the final 2.0 innings with two hits and two earned runs to earn his second save.

The Mountaineers are slated to host Lock Haven at Shaute Field on Saturday.
