Mounties Edged by Bloomsburg 69-66 in Thriller at Decker

MANSFIELD – Tianna Jackson's potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer for Mansfield fell just short as Bloomsburg escaped a raucous Decker Gymnasium with a 69-66 PSAC East win Wednesday night.

The Mountaineers outscored Bloomsburg (9-14, 8-11 PSAC) 58-49 over the final three quarters, but could not overcome a 20-8 first quarter deficit.

Tianna Jackson scored all 17 of her points in the second half, going 5-10 from the floor and 3-6 from 3-point in the game. The senior hit all four free throws attempted and dished out a team-high five assists.

Brielle Kelly scored 15 points and grabbed seven boards to inch closer to a pair of milestones. The junior is now just 78 points away from 1,000 and nine rebounds away from 500 with two games remaining in the season.

Alyssa Mullins went 6-9 from the floor for 14 points with Mary Kate Rumbaugh adding 11 points and seven boards.

Morgan Klunk led Bloomsburg with a game-high 26 points and Alex Ross recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Mansfield travels to Lock Haven next Wednesday.
