BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior
Melanie Taylor went off from the outside but the Mountaineers could not contain the Lehigh offense in a 77-47 loss on Wednesday in an exhibition contest.

Taylor went 4-5 from the arch to lead with 12 points while
Alyssa Mullins added ten of her own.
McKenzie Hatch and
Brielle Kelly scored ten and nine, respectively. Several Mounties grabbed a team-high three rebounds.

Mansfield (3-3, 1-1 PSAC) held Lehigh (3-2, 0-0 PL) to a five-point lead in the opening five minutes before the Mountain Hawks pulled ahead to a 26-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

The Mountaineers fought their way into the second frame, going on a run to cut the deficit to 28-16. Hatch led the women with seven points, two steals, and a rebound going 2-2 from the line. Lehigh took a 40-23 lead into halftime.

After allowing 46 points in the first half, the Mounties kept Lehigh at a game-low six points in the first six minutes of the third quarter. Mansfield was outscored by just five points in the last period as the Mountain Hawks hit two free throws to secure the 77-47 victory.

Quinci Mann led Lehigh with 18 points while Camryn Buhr grabbed a game-high 11 boards.

The Mountaineers capitalized off of opponent errors, out-scoring Lehigh 13-10 off turnovers.

The women return to Mansfield next Wednesday for their home opener when they host Roberts Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m.
