BLOOMSBURG – A pair of late runs lifted Bloomsburg past Mansfield 8-6 in the opener before the Huskies cruised to a 23-2 win in game two to win both ends of a PSAC East doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

In game one, Mansfield took an early lead with
Tanner Klein's two-base knock to score
Scott Rockwell in the top of the first. The Huskies responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning capped by Damin Muth's three-run homer.

Bloomsburg's Brian Almand plated two runs in the bottom of the third to extend the Huskies lead to 6-2.

The Mountaineers got back a run in the fourth via a
Peter Pena RBI-single to score
Owen Lukens before rallying for four runs in the fifth tying the game at 6-6.
Taylor Hillson got aboard on a hit by a pitch and Rockwell singled to put runners at first and second.
Zephan Kash's one-out single up the middle scored Hillson. With a pair of runners in scoring position,
Tanner Klein's single through the left side plated two more runs. Lukens doubled to left field to score Klein and tie the game.

The Huskies scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn the win.

Zach Newmyer earned the win in relief, pitching the final 2.1 innings with no earned runs and three strikeouts.

Brandon Garrett took the loss after scattering 10 hits for eight earned runs in 5.1 innings worked. The junior struck out six batters.

In game two, the Huskies scored in every inning, highlighted by a 10-run bottom of the sixth.

Mansfield got on the board in the top of the seventh. Luken's RBI-single to plated

Zach Merkle drove in Klein.

Ryuta Amaike tossed a complete game four-hitter for Bloomsburg and struck out nine batters while walking just one.
Luke Hils was charged with the loss.

The Mountaineers host Lincoln (Pa.) in a non-conference doubleheader at Shaute Field on Wednesday.
