MANSFIELD – Mansfield won both ends of a non-conference doubleheader against Lincoln (Pa.) by a scores of 12-1 Wednesday afternoon to give
Harry Hillson 850 career wins as skipper of the Mountaineers.

Hillson is just the 12
th active coach in NCAA Division II baseball to hit 850 wins and is only the third coach in Pennsylvania history across any division to hit the milestone.

Mountaineer starting pitchers
Matt Zielen and
Luke Hils each allowed just two hits in 5.0 innings of work to pick up their first wins of the season.
Â
Lincoln (3-16) scored a run in the top of the first to take an early lead but it was all Mansfield (11-13, 1-7 PSAC East) after that.
Â
In the bottom of the second,
Scott Rockwell drove in a pair of runs with a single through the left side to put the Mountaineers ahead. In the third,
Peter Pena put Mansfield up 5-1 with a three-run homer to left field. It was the first of the season for Pena.

Dalton Lewis kicked-off a six-run fourth inning by scoring on a wild pitch before
Taylor Hillson's double drove in another.
Zephan Kash hit a two-run home run to right field followed by
Tanner Klein's solo shot to center.
Hunter Huyett cleared the scoreboard in left field to cap back-to-back-to-back homers increasing Mansfield's lead to 11-1.

Wes Custer plated Hillson with an RBI-double in the gap to extend the lead to 12-1.

Zielen allowed just two hits and no walks or earned runs in 5.0 innings on the mound while striking out four batters.
Jeremy Worlinsky gave up just one hit over 2.0 innings in relief.

Hillson and Rockwell each recorded three hits to lead Mansfield offensively.

In game two,
Jerry Chavarria opened the scoring with an RBI-single before
Ryan Paige's double down the left field line brought home another run.
Â
Chavarria drove in a runner in the fourth to opener a seven-run inning. Rockwell's single through the left side plated another run then Paige crossed home on a wild pitch. Hillson drove in another run before
Matt Kurelja hit a grand slam to deep center to extend Mansfield's lead to 9-0.

Gabriel Santiago's solo home run in the fifth put Lincoln on the board, but the Mountaineers responded with three more runs in the bottom of the inning. Hillson drove in a pair of runs with a single through the right side before Kurelja plated another with a sac fly to left field.

Hils gave up just two hits, a walk and one earned run while fanning eight batters through 5.0 innings worked.
Evan McAndrew and
Billy Rummings pitched perfect innings in relief.

The Mountaineers return to PSAC East action this weekend against Shippensburg.
