SHIPPENSBURG – Shippensburg won both ends of a PSAC East doubleheader against Mansfield Friday afternoon winning the opener 13-1 before taking the nightcap 7-1.

In game one, the Raiders scored the first 11 runs of the game before Mansfield (11-5, 1-9 PSAC East) got on the board in the fifth inning.
Scott Rockwell's RBI single through the right side scored
Ryan Paige to put the Mounties on the board.

Shippensburg (14-15, 5-5 PSAC East) added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to ease to the win.

Raider starting pitcher Mark Curtis took the win allowing seven hits and one earned run through 6.0 innings. Mansfield's
Tommy Alexander was hit with the loss.

Mike Marcinko and Austin Allison each had three hits and three runs for Ship.

Shippensburg took a 7-0 lead in game two before the Mountaineers plated a run in the top of the seventh inning.
Michael Jankowski scored on a throwing error by the pitcher to break-up the shutout.

Chase Pepper went the distance for MU allowing nine hits and three earned runs while striking out six. Marcus Shippey got the complete game win with five hits and 10 strikeouts.

Mansfield hosts Shippensburg at Shaute Field on Saturday.
