The Mountaineer women have been playing some of their best ball of the season lately, beating Cheyney before dropping a two-point decision at the buzzer to Lock Haven. Bloomsburg won the first meeting between the two schools back in December by a score of 87-51.

Mansfield dropped an 85-66 decision at first-place Shippensburg Wednesday evening with sophomore Brielle Kelly scoring 19 points. Senior Katie Fitzpatrick recorded fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tianna Jackson added 15 points.

Kelly has been red-hot of late, scoring in double-figures in each of her last six game including a career-high 30 points against Lock Haven. Fitzpatrick now has 1,197 points in her career and trails Mansfield Hall of Famer Jess Uhrich Hill for 6th place on the all-time scoring list. The senior ranks 11th in the conference in scoring (15.9 ppg), 15th in rebounding (7.5 rpg), 8th in field goal percentage (49.6%) and 2nd in steals (2.3 spg).

Bloomsburg is tied with Millersville for third place in the PSAC East after dropping back-to-back games to West Chester and East Stroudsburg. The Huskies are paced by Mia Hopkins who is currently 3rd in the PSAC in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game.

The Mansfield men have also shown sharp improvement in their play lately, recording wins over Cheyney and Lock Haven before suffering a 99-89 setback at Shippensburg. Thomas Moore led five Mountaineers in double-figures at Shippensburg with 23 points with Brand Williams scoring 13 points and Gerasimos Kautoufas 12 points. Ian Vasquez and Matt Tamanosky each scored 10 points.

Moore ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring averaging 16.1 points per game and is third in the conference in assists with 94. Tamanosky ranks in the top 20 in the PSAC in scoring (14.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg) while leading the conference in field goal percentage (61.2%).

Bloomsburg had a five-game winning-streak snapped in an 87-64 loss at West Chester on Wednesday. The Huskies, who have already clinched a PSAC playoff berth, are led by Christian Mortellite who ranks third in the conference and first in the PSAC East in scoring averaging 18.9 points per game.
