FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Drop PSAC East Contest at Shippensburg
 
SHIPPENSBURG – Brielle Kelly scored a team-high 19 points, but Mansfield dropped an 85-66 decision to Shippensburg on Wednesday night in PSAC East action at Heiges Field House.
 
Kelly hit six field goals and was perfect 6-6 from the free throw line while Katie Fitzpatrick recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tianna Jackson added 15 points for the Mounties.
 
Shippensburg's Colleen Young led all scorers with 24 points with Morgan Griffith adding 22 points and 12 boards.
 
Shippensburg maintained a slight lead throughout most of the first quarter and went into the first break with a 25-22 advantage. The Lady Raiders outscored Mansfield 24-8 in the second quarter to take a 19-point lead into halftime.
 
Shippensburg maintained its lead throughout the second half to earn the eastern division victory. The Mountaineers outscored their opponent 20-14 in the fourth quarter.
