MANSFIELD – Katie Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 20 points as Mansfield outscored Bloomsburg 23-6 in the fourth quarter for a huge 65-61 upset victory at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium on Saturday.

Trailing 55-42 at the end of the third, Mansfield's Becky Evans drained a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 10 points. Mansfield chipped away at the Bloomsburg lead and trailed by just two points at 59-57 following a Brielle Kelly lay-up. Another Evans three gave the Mountaineers their first lead of the game with 3:48 to play before a Fitzpatrick lay-up gave Mansfield a three-point cushion.

An Alyssa Mack lay-up with just under two minutes pulled the Huskies within one point at 62-61. Evans connected on a pair of free throws with 30 seconds remaining to extend the lead to three points once more. Bloomsburg had two open looks at a game-tying 3-pointer, but both rattled away. Fitzpatrick hit the second of two free throws to give MU a four-point lead.

Bloomsburg scored just two points over the final five minutes of play.

The Huskies opened the game by scoring the first nine points in just over two minutes. The Mounties closed within five points at 10-5 at the 6:09 mark, but Bloomsburg built its lead back up to 12 points. The quarter ended with Bloomsburg leading 19-10.

Kelly was just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds while Evans hit five treys to also score 17 points.

Adreana Sadowski led Bloomsburg with 20 points with Julie Gantz adding 15 points.

Mansfield outrebounded the Huskies 41-34 including 15-7 on the offensive glass. Bloomsburg was stymied by 19 turnover with 10 being forced by the Mounties.
